Envirohemp Among the Companies Developing Innovative Projects with BONOS SINAI

September 18, 2024

The grants were awarded to sixteen companies and four business R&D units, with a budget of 200,000 euros

The “Departamento de Universidad, Innovación y Transformación Digital” announced a new call for the SINAI Bonds for knowledge transfer, aimed at “facilitating the approach of SMEs” to the agents of the Navarra R&D&I System (SINAI). With a budget of 200,000 euros, 15% more than the previous edition, the grants were awarded to sixteen companies and four business R&D units.

As reported by the Government of Navarra this Friday, these subsidies cover 60% of the eligible expenses (excluding VAT), with a maximum of 10,000 euros per application. Their objective is to “strengthen the innovation system by helping SMEs to innovate through collaboration with universities, technology centers, and research institutes to transfer knowledge on this matter.”

To select the beneficiaries, criteria such as company size were considered, favoring those with fewer employees, contribution to territorial cohesion, and measures to promote equality within companies. Additional factors included whether the company employs people with disabilities, if it is a Technological-Based Innovative Company (EIBT), if it is a spin-off of a SINAI agent, or if it is the first time in five years that the company collaborates with that specific SINAI agent.

THE SME PROJECTS
Some of the projects include, for example, a study on how to better utilize the gases produced during the manufacturing of products at Envirohemp; the development of an improved electric charger at Ulartec; research to enhance the preservation of food products at Zitromac Soluciones Cítricas; and the use of vegetable by-products to create new extracts at Trasa.
